I’m really sad about Davy Jones you guys. My parents raised me with a heavy dose of The Monkees…my dad used to play Daydream Believer on his guitar to help me fall asleep when I was just a wee thing. (He also played House of the Rising Sun and Hurdy Gurdy Man…which actually explains a lot about my very weird brain. THANKS DAD!) Monkees reruns on Nick at Nite was one of the few things I could stay up late to watch. When I got older and I started delving into the wild world of weirdo cinema, I inevitably viewed HEAD and it’s still one of my favorites. So rest in peace Davy, you will always be fondly remembered by this weirdo. Here’s Davy in HEAD, singing “Daddy’s Song”…stick through to the end for Frank Zappa’s cameo!
